Toddlers

Our Toddler classroom remains small for our 1 and 2 year olds! We build off of children’s development in the infant room, and begin to get into our daily routine. In this room, students will be introduced to doing what they can independently. They will also start getting exposed to sharing, playing with others, taking turns, and more! Other things we do in the Toddler Room include:

  • Circle time & story
  • Daily Yoga
  • Learning through play
  • Nature/Outside play
  • Intentional/Free play
  • Music & Movement
  • Baby Sign Language & Spanish
  • Theme based crafts & projects (based on individual learning levels)

*Students can only transition from the Toddler class into the Prekindergarten class once they are potty trained.*

Toddler I – 12 to 23 months (1 year old)Toddler II – 24 to 35 months (2 years old)
In Toddler I, student are working on:

– Building a routine
– Listening to & following one-step directions
– Cleaning up after themselves
– Crawling & walking
– Using crayons and different writing utensils

While this classroom is combined with Toddler II, the difference in development is recognized and considered when it comes to all lesson planning.

Once children turn 2 years old, they will be considered Toddler II students!
In Toddler II, student are working on:

– Following daily routines
– Listening to & following two-step directions
– Problem-solving skills
– Independence

We ask that kids being moved to this program begin transitioning into pull-ups to help with the potty training process.

Students in this class (once they are close to turning 3 years old) will slowly be transitioned into the Prekindergarten class as they become ready!
